Flanders Precisionaire - Flanders offers three models of spun glass disposable panel filters. They are all identical in construction with exception of the media retainers: Flanders Heavy Duty has two metal media retainers, one upstream and one downstream. EZ Flow has one metal retainer on the downstream side only. And EZ Flow II is made without metal retainers. Spun glass furnace filters are the workhorses of our filter line. They are designed primarily to catch relatively large airborne particles such as lint and dust to protect the heat exchangers and evaporator coils of furnaces and central air conditioners. Buildups of airborne particles on these equipment parts can drastically reduce energy efficiency and even cause equipment breakdown. The filters themselves offer very low airflow resistance for excellent energy economy. However, it is recommended that they be changed monthly to prevent unloading , a condition where a very dirty filter begins to lose some of its load back into the airstream
